Shipping Policy

At Mackay Shooters Supplies, we are committed to delivering your order safely, legally and reliably across Australia. As a licensed firearms dealer, some orders are subject to additional legal requirements before they can be dispatched.

Order Processing

In-stock accessories and general items are dispatched within 1 to 2 business days (excluding weekends and public holidays).
Firearms, ammunition, reloading components and other regulated items are only dispatched once all licence, permit and compliance checks have been completed. Processing times will vary depending on how quickly documentation is provided and approved.
Special order or non-stock items may have longer processing times. Estimated timeframes will be provided at the time of purchase or upon enquiry.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive tracking details via email.

Licensing & Compliance Requirements

All sales are made in accordance with the Weapons Act 1990 (Qld), the Explosives Act 1999 (Qld) and the corresponding legislation of your state or territory.

Firearms cannot be shipped directly to a private address. All firearms are transferred to a licensed dealer nominated by you, for collection in person with your licence and any required permit. Dealer transfer fees may apply and are payable to the receiving dealer.
A valid Permit to Acquire (or your state equivalent) must be sighted and verified before a firearm is dispatched.
Ammunition, primers, powder and black powder products require a current firearms licence in the relevant category. A copy of your licence must be supplied and verified before dispatch.
You must be 18 years or older to purchase from this website.
Orders that cannot be verified will be held, and where verification is not provided within a reasonable time, cancelled and refunded.

It is your responsibility to ensure that any item you order is legal for you to acquire, own and possess in your state or territory.

Ammunition, Powder & Dangerous Goods

Ammunition, primers, powder and black powder products are classified as dangerous goods and are subject to strict carrier and quantity requirements.

Dangerous goods are sent by road freight only and cannot be sent by air. Delivery to regional and remote destinations will take longer as a result.
These items cannot be delivered to PO Boxes, parcel lockers or unattended addresses.
An adult signature is required on delivery.
Quantity limits apply to powder and primers in a single consignment. Larger orders may be split across multiple shipments.
Additional dangerous goods handling fees may apply and will be quoted before dispatch.
Some destinations may be subject to carrier or legislative restrictions. We will contact you if your order is affected.

Shipping Rates & Delivery Times

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the size, weight and classification of the items ordered, and your delivery location.
Bulky and heavy items such as gun safes are quoted separately and are delivered kerbside only. Installation, placement and bolt down are not included, and are your responsibility to arrange.
Dangerous goods freight is quoted separately where it cannot be calculated at checkout.

Estimated delivery timeframes:

Metro areas: 3 to 7 business days
Regional & remote areas: Delivery times will vary and may take significantly longer, particularly for dangerous goods and bulky items sent by road freight

Please note that delivery timeframes are estimates only and may be affected by carrier delays, weather events, compliance checks or other external factors.

Shipping Coverage

We ship Australia-wide using trusted carriers selected for your location and the classification of your order. We do not ship internationally.

Certain products are restricted or prohibited in some states and territories. Where an ordered item cannot lawfully be supplied to your location, we will contact you to arrange an alternative or a refund.

In-Store Pickup

You are welcome to collect your order from our Paget store. Please bring photo identification, and your firearms licence and permit where the order includes licensed items. Orders cannot be released to a third party.

Returns & Exchanges Policy

We want you to feel confident in your purchase. If something isn't right, we're here to help. Please note that additional restrictions apply to firearms, ammunition and regulated items for safety and legal reasons.

Change of Mind Returns

We accept returns on eligible items within 14 days of delivery, provided that:

Items are unused and unfired
Items are in original, undamaged packaging with all tags, manuals and accessories included
Proof of purchase is provided
A return has been approved by our team before the item is sent back

For approved change-of-mind returns:

A store credit will be issued
Return shipping costs are to be covered by the buyer
Return freight for dangerous goods must be arranged through an approved carrier and comply with all dangerous goods requirements

Change of mind returns are not available on firearms, ammunition, powder, primers or other regulated items. Once a firearm has been transferred or a permit has been used, the sale is final.

Used & Second Hand Firearms

Used firearms are sold on an as is basis and are described as accurately as possible, including condition and any known faults. We encourage you to contact us for additional photos or details before purchasing. Used firearms are not eligible for change of mind return, and manufacturer warranty does not apply. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law are not affected.

Faulty or Damaged Items

If your order arrives faulty or damaged, please contact us as soon as possible and before using the product.

In accordance with Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a replacement, repair or refund where a product is faulty or not as described. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

Refunds for faulty items will be processed to the original payment method
We may request photos or additional information to assess the issue
Faulty firearms must be returned through a licensed dealer. Do not post a firearm to us directly.
Many firearms, optics and thermal products carry a manufacturer or importer warranty. We will assist you in lodging a warranty claim where applicable.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for change of mind return:

Ammunition, primers, powder, black powder, projectiles and other explosives, for safety reasons
Firearms, once transferred or once a Permit to Acquire has been used
Used and second hand firearms
Used, fired, fitted, mounted or installed items
Consumable and perishable items, including coffee, oils and solvents
Items not in original packaging
Special order, custom or non-stock items
Gunsmithing, servicing, repair, mounting and transfer services already performed
Clearance or final sale items

Please include your order number and reason for return so we can assist you as quickly as possible. Returns sent without prior approval may be refused.
